What you'll actually pay —
and why

We'll give you a complete itemized estimate before you make any decision. This page explains how costs are structured, what's included, and what to budget beyond the program fee.

Why is bariatric surgery less expensive in Mexico?

This question matters. The answer is about economics, not quality.

In the US, the cost includes:

Hospital administrative overhead (billing departments, insurance negotiation staff, compliance teams)

Malpractice insurance premiums (significantly higher in the US than internationally)

Pharmaceutical markups (US drug pricing is among the highest in the world)

Real estate costs (US hospital facilities in major metro areas)

Insurance intermediation costs (negotiated rates, denials, appeals)

What doesn't change regardless of country:

Surgical technique (laparoscopic bariatric surgery is standardized globally)

Surgical instruments and staplers (same manufacturers — Ethicon, Medtronic)

Surgeon training (our surgeons trained internationally and are board-certified)

Anesthesia protocols (evidence-based, same as US academic centers)

Outcomes (published IFSO literature shows comparable results globally)

The short version: You're paying for surgery, not for the US healthcare system's overhead. The scalpel is the same. The training is equivalent. The building and the billing department are not.
